Lee Ryan Coston’s first job in show business was at a local TV station in her home state of Montana. She started as a camera operator and floor director for a live talk show and the local newscast, as well as a radio copywriter and disc jockey, winning several regional awards.
She moved in front of the camera as a television talk show host and local news anchor. Her work netted her awards for "Announcer of the Year" and "Broadcaster of the Year". After moving to Seattle, she worked at various radio stations as an announcer, copywriter, talk show producer and Promotions Director.
She won an ITVA Silver Telly Award for an eight-part series she wrote, produced and directed for Boeing—one of the first videos where the company used actors and story-lines to train and motivate. She also produced over a dozen films for corporate clients including Microsoft, King County, and NW Women’s Show.
As the head of Blue Heron Productions, Lee has written, produced and directed a myriad of stage plays and taught acting at The University of Washington, all the while building her career as a voice talent and actor.
Today, Blue Heron focuses on Indie film-making. Lee has directed four short films. Her fifth film, Christmas Tattoo, is in pre-production.
